    Racist prick ! U r the same as those that you hate ie the ones that say the same about blacks ! Attitudes like urs keep hatred alive longer. Anyway even if it mattered, he can’t help it if he was born with white skin. Johnny was arrested many times for standing up for black rights, had bomb threats from government at his shows but kept playing & also played secret gigs. He had the guts to go by himself to black townships to learn language, culture, dance, instruments etc Show some respect !

    calm down, don’t even WASTE your time with a nut like that. TRUST ME THEY ARE NOT from africa. because if they were, then that comment contradicts what africa is all about. My husband is from Durbin South Africa, he was raised by white africans, whom we love dearly! that’s like someone saying to me there are no black jews, when that’s a LIE. I was adopted and raised in israel by ethiopian jewish parents whom I love dearly. Don’t feed ignorance your time or energy.

    I dont know about the rasism and all that but whenever i hear this unique melody i just think BLACK.

    Its like something mystical that connects me to my fellow black brothers and sisters. I cant fully explain it. Its more than the melody.

    Im not even African (im Jamaican) but I feel a connection everytime I hear this melody, the rich harmony. Its something about our shared history I think.

    But To have a white guy reproduce this melody it sort of looses all that depth. I loose the connection.

    I understand what the jamaican bro is saying too (and I’m white) It’s 100% black. He would have to listen to Johnny Cleggs other songs to understand how much he has embrased Soweto culture, and he marries the black & white sounds well – both cultures are quite alive in all the music he produces. On a personal note – he looks an idiot dancing around trying to sing like a tribesman, bit embarrassing lol. He should stick to what he’s good at……being white!! and marrying the two sounds together
