Is the Gospel just another imperative command that we must follow, or is it the glorious news of Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection which atoned for the sins of all who believe? Here, Paul Washer expounds on the greatness of this good news that we call the Gospel. "Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise ...

Paul Washer is the bomb, he preaches the real deal, and a well rounded one.

how so? can you explain your statement? and back it up with scripture :)

    Wow. The truth just… wow

I agree! My pastor very rarely preaches hard messages, and I don’t know if I’m a masochist or not, but I love being rebuked. Lol. :)

We need more preachers in this country? 1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing you received from HIM remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. What we need in this country is the sheep reading the Word. All sheep should know the scriptures as well if not better than the preacher. This is calvinism. The roman catholic message of PW doesn’t call for the sheep to study, just the preachers aka “preists”. Stop listening to PW and open your Bibles! God Bless you all.

The term in 1John 2:27 that you allude to is more commonly translated “man”, and the whole point of Paul’s comment isn’t to say that you shouldn’t have a pastor. It’s to say that you don’t need to adhere to the men “who seduce you” just as it says in the previous verse. Context matters. You can open your Bible all you want, but if you just read what you want to read out of it, it doesn’t matter much anyway.

i get frustrated when i watch Mr. Washer. I like a lot of what I hear from him. But I NEVER hear anything positive about what God is doing. I never hear anything good about anyone in the American church. I know there are a lot of issues with people but we are continuing to be sanctified. Many Christians are at different places at the same time. As long as one has faith in Christ, confessing Him as Lord and believing God raised Him from the dead, then one will be saved.

  • Jimbo3783 says:

Most of what Washer teaches as problems with believers is simply looking at the fruit of a believer. While these are important things, one cannot fake them. He is, probably accidentally, doing what he accuses many of doing with the sinner’s prayer. While he shows how we judge fellow peers who claim Christ, he is inadvertently creating yet another formula in proving one is saved. Preach faith in Christ on the cross and let God sanctify. While we must do much of what Paul preaches, there is

    My dear brother lane,
My point is not that preachers are bad, even though often idolized by their followers. All teaching elders will always point you back to the Word. PW points people to the pulpit and not the Word. The pulpit will never replace your own study time in the word. This concept is at the very heart of what it is to be Protestant.

  • Jimbo3783 says:

no formula for salvation apart from faith Christ! People will become guilt ridden by Paul’s preaching and try to do what he prescribes so they can come off as saved or convince them of their own salvation. I know Paul doesn’t want this, so I think he needs to note that. Paul preaches faith in Christ but focuses much on the judgment of believers without noting that what he says isn’t a work for salvation. There are no cookie cutter Christians, just sinners in love with Christ, trusting Him.

    I like his preaching…

This servant of God feels an overwhelming burden for lost souls. He has seen sincere Christianity practiced by third world Christians who practically have nothing in terms of material wealth and comparing it to affluent, comfortable, opulent, trivialized Bible illiterate Christianity here in U.S. Never Expect a prophet to says things that delightful and easy things to hear, just read Jeremiah.

  • ABAisSCIENCE says:

This man is inspired by God no doubt about it. So is Ravi Zachariah, Alistar Begg, John Vernon McGee, and David Jeremiah.

Selah & then Shalom. Let’s hope people figure that out.

Sir we must repent and believe. Both of which must be genuine. We are to examine our claim of being a Christian in light of scripture. The way is narrow. Only a few will find it. Jesus was speaking to professing believers when He said, depart from me I never knew you.” Submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and enduring to the end leads to salvation. The fruit are evidence to Him, the world and you. Do you love Him more than everything? Would you die today for His names sake?

  • Hiscall888 says:

Jesus warned of hell more than all others in scripture combined. Jesus said, you will know them by their fruit. Jesus warned us about the false teachers & false men claiming Him. Believers are admonished to be in discernment of fruit and are told to have no fellowship with one professing Christ but walking in the ways of the world. Warning after warning from Jesus. The thrust of His ministry was Grace, that you may be saved! Warning do not be deceived as most will be cast into the lake of fire

  • Hiscall888 says:

Jesus’s teaching was and is hard truth for many. Jesus did it out of Love for you, me and all. So it is with those who teach as he taught, it is His love that he has given them that they love others and so teach that we may not be deceived. Thus not for the sake of the teacher but for those that will hear what the Lord has said. If one is offended by the message of repent and believe, (have one passion, walk it out daily till you take your last breath) or you will go to hell, then you are lost

  • Hiscall888 says:

With that said, I praise God that the Word became flesh and taught man as a man how to share the gospel. Jesus said, seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you. Seek only Him that you may have Life now and for eternity. This is the greatest news if received. The walk is extremely difficult and is exactly what He promised. A cross to carry through the small gate along the narrow and difficult path. With His help we can make it with Joy all the way Home! Amen.

  • Hiscall888 says:

To the wind with your foolish arrogance. Have you not read the scriptures, how will they hear without a preacher? to some He gives the gift of preaching, teaching…… And the sheep should know scriptures as well if not better than the one gifted by the Holy Spirit. Fall down on your face and repent to the One True Living God that you might live by Grace which is offered to all men that repent and believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on that Tree. Keep your blessings until you do so.

and also, you forgot, being born of the spirit……

If you have not been visted be the Holy Ghost, OR, if you or anyone has not had a divine supernatural change within their heart towards Jesus Christ, then they are not born of God by Spirit…

I just wanted to add that to your comment, because the doctrine of Regeneration, is being twisted by Decisional Regeneration/Baptismal Regeneration, being born of the Spirit has been reduced to a mere human proformance such as repeating a prayer

  • Hiscall888 says:

Amen. Apart from a supernatural work of God by the Holy Spirit (regeneration) no man can be born again. Thus they cannot truly repent and believe and are lost.

  • agentorangetechno says:

    dead on brother, amen.

  • oayno says:

Thank You for the Sermon. I was a self centered Christian for more than 30 years. I worshiped a God that created by my own mind. If it is not because of His Grace giving me a bold sermon such as this one, I would never understand what the Truth is.

Just repeating because its so true.
This experience of Christs spirit goes even through the whole body with warmness and tingles, and changes everything.
The 12 apostles were sure to death about Jesus bec they saw him resurrected – we are sure to death bec we FEEL him, him being alive!!

  • dave777blaster says:

    All praise Jesus

  • agentorangetechno says:

amen flanger7777, another thing that is a burden on my heart, is the inspired word of the holy ghost, when John the baptist said, ‘I baptise with water, but He shall baptise you with fire and of the Holy Ghost is not poetry.’ Its almost as if the devil is trying to take the Holy Spirit out of the church..and this being born of the spirit is soooo absoulotly critical, that our lives do indeed depend on it. its a beautifull truth, the word says, seek him with all your heart and you shall find him.
